Information about training
The new Safe Space training
Girlguiding have introduced compulsory Safe Space training for all volunteers. This needs to be renewed every three years. Different roles have different requirements:
Level 1 and 2 is required for unit helpers, assistant leaders, leaders in training (with or completing modules 1-3 of the Leadership qualification), young leaders (those 14 years and over completing the Young Leader qualification)
Level 1, 2 and 3 is required for leaders (those completing or those who have completed and are using Module four of the Leadership qualification to fulfil the role of leader), mentor, adviser, coordinator, leader fulfilling the role of licence holder on a residential (including those working towards the Girlguiding going away with qualification).
