Tickets now on sale for the NSGSO concerts

Matinee Concert for Local Scouts and Guides – Saturday 1 August

On Saturday 1 August there is a short matinee performance for local Scouts and Guides to give them a flavour of an orchestral concert and possibly encourage them to join in future years. It is just an hour from 2-3pm and costs just £2 per person (no concessions!). It is not open to the general public. Please email tickets@nsgso.com and you will be sent information about how to obtain your seats and how to pay.

The concert includes a variety of film scores including The Magnificent 7, Batman, Hymn to the Fallen from Saving Private Ryan and The Empire Strikes Back. It will also include a piece entitled The Gang’s all Here!

The concert is applicable from Beaver or Rainbow age upwards. It is being held in the Adrian Boult Hall of the Birmingham Conservatoire, Paradise Place, Fletchers Walk, Birmingham, B3 3HG. It is about 5-7 minutes walk from New Street Station by walking up New Street and past the Council House in Victoria Square, and is behind the Town Hall.

Evening Concerts – Friday 31 July and Saturday 1 August 7.30pm

Tickets for our 40th anniversary concerts in Birmingham are now on sale via the Birmingham Rep Theatre or 0121 236 4455.

In addition to all the above pieces we are also playing Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony Young people are also welcome in the evening but that concert is more applicable from Explorer or Ranger age upwards and obviously to leaders. These concerts are open to the public

Tickets are £10 each or £8 for concessions or groups of 10 or more.

General Information

The NSGSO has attracted an orchestra of 75 Scouts and Guides from all round the country who will have met just a week earlier to rehearse and work together on these pieces
We are welcoming Gill Slocombe Chief Guide Commissioner to the Friday concert and Tim Kidd, Deputy UK Chief Scout Commissioner on the Saturday.
