National Scout and Guide Symphony Orchestra

Four violinists from Girlguiding Birmingham attended the National Scout and Guide Symphony Orchestra (NSGSO) this summer.   Up to 8 hours a day was spent rehearsing, and the resulting concerts were fabulous!

It was a packed week as our musicians also had the chance to participate in climbing, archery, kayaking, orienteering and team building exercises in their free time, as well as a mass water fight which took place on the wettest afternoon of the whole week …

The focus of the week was preparation for three concerts in Bramall Hall which is part of the University of Birmingham, followed by a performance at the Severn Valley Railway.

Many congratulations to Laura from Perry Barr Division, and Isobel, Abigail and Hannah from Vesey Division who were part of a group of 127 members who were supported by 12 volunteer staff.  Well done and thank you, all.

If you or a member of your unit might like to take part next year, the applications will be open towards the end of this year.
