Kandersteg 2021

Every couple of years over 100 members of Guiding and Scouting from Birmingham travel to Kandersteg International Scout Centre, Switzerland for a week’s Winter Adventure.

The week is packed full of fun with daytime activities including:  three days skiing, snow shoeing, curling, sledging and hiking, and a full evening programme including: a disco, quiz night and Igloo building. Following the success of previous trips in 2009, 2012, 2014, 2017 and 2019 we will be returning again in February 2021.

Support Edward’s Trust with a new challenge badge!

Edward’s Trust is a Bereavement Charity based in Edgbaston, Birmingham; set up 30 years ago by Peter and Hilary Dent on the loss of their child Edward aged 7.

Determined to help other families facing loss, they have over the years, offered accommodation and support at Edward House, but now concentrate solely on counselling both children who have lost parents and/or siblings, and parents who have lost a child.  Over 500 families have been helped every year and, as a Charity, it has to find the funds to support not only these families, but outreach work in schools, teenage groups, and much, much more.

Use the links below to download the Kite Challenge and sponsor form which has been put together by three Leaders in Perry Barr Division in conjunction with Edward’s Trust. Printed copies are available and woven badges can be purchased on completion, at a cost of £1 from or 0121 456 4838.
